Our society feeds hundreds of families and individuals with nourishing food. Through bi-weekly and emergency services, our Food Pantry served Talbot County residents every week last year, throughout the pandemic. The value of the food distributed in 2021 was $1,250,216.
Through its facility on Canvasback Drive in Easton, SVdP distributes food to those facing hunger, 52 weeks a year. The food includes shelf-stable items such as cereal, peanut butter, tuna fish, pasta, canned vegetables, fruit, dried milk, soap and toilet paper. Perishable items, such as milk, bread, meat, produce and frozen vegetables are also part of the food program.
The fastest way to get help with food is to visit the St. Vincent Advisors Office at the SVdP Center on Tuesdays from 1-4 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-1 pm.
Our mission provides us with the opportunity to welcome those who need financial support for essential living needs.

This includes emergency financial assistance for utility bills, mortgage and rent payments, temporary shelter, prescriptions and medical needs, along with transportation and other related expenses. In 2021 we provided $138,142 to Talbot County residents to help cover these necessities.

“…our principal concern must be to serve the poor with great gentleness and cordiality, sympathizing with them ... inquiring of them what they might need and procuring necessary help for them…”

The core of Society services is a conversation with those who are experiencing hard times. Trained teams of St. Vincent Advisors work in pairs, meeting with clients at the SVdP Center. For fastest family assistance, please visit us on Tuesdays from 1-4 pm, Thursdays from 1-3pm, or Saturdays from 9 am - 1 pm. Advisors are able to share themselves with people in need and, by doing so, attempt to understand and assist with the grave circumstances of their situation. We partner with other agencies and non-profits in assuring that those in Talbot County who lack basic necessities are supported.
