Our VISION is to see in those in need the face of Christ.
Our MISSION is to bring faith and hope alive through service to others, one neighbor at a time.
Our GOALS are to live our faith by loving and serving individuals and families so that no one lacks the necessities of life.
Our Mission Statement
Society of SVdP SS Peter & Paul Conference Mission StatementThe Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Founded on April 23, 1833, in Paris, France by 20-year-old Frederic Ozanam and five other students, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul resolved to respond to Christ’s call by dedicating themselves to the poor, after the example of St. Vincent de Paul. SVdP now exists on five continents in 150 countries, with nearly 800,000 members in 44,600 conferences.
In 1978, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Saints Peter and Paul Conference, set about helping the poor in Talbot County. By the late 1990s, operating out of the annex building behind Saints Peter and Paul Church on Goldsborough Street in Easton, their primary work was distributing bags of groceries every Wednesday.
Saints Peter and Paul Church was sold and construction began on the new church in 2005. St. Vincent de Paul moved to a storage locker behind Wishing Well Liquors just off Route 50, and handed out 30 bags of groceries a week.
In 2008, SVdP moved into a 2,000-square-foot building on Commerce Drive. After four years, thanks to a large grant from the Michael and Nancy Klein Foundation, SVdP bought a building on Canvasback Drive. On January 2, 2012, we began operating SVdP in our 5,000-square-foot current location.
As the need for food and other assistance increased, we needed more space. In 2016, through a federal block grant, we were able to expand our facilities by 2000 sq. ft., which allowed us to add a boutique and increase the size of the center’s clothing, housewares and furniture departments. Adding this space has increased our revenue, allowing us to fund the demand for food and services (rent, utilities, etc.), which continues to grow. We are grateful for the outpouring of support from many benefactors and organizations that help us with funding operations.
Looking to the future, we hope to continue with diversity in both our volunteers and in those we serve. We anticipate continued growth and demand for our services.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Saints Peter and Paul Conference, Inc. is managed and operated entirely by our volunteer Vincentian membership.

OUR NEIGHBORS THANK YOU
"You have the pantry restocking and distribution/delivery system down to a real science. It dumbfounds me each time I witness the time and energy the volunteers spend in order to prepare for the rush of those in need of this benefit. Keep up the terrific work and k
now that your efforts are not unnoticed and definitely greatly appreciated."
"Thank you very much for the money you paid to the Orthopedic Center on my behalf for the operation I had in October. I needed a deposit of money for the procedure. I had the treatment and I am recovering. Without your help, I would not have been able to have the surgery. Thank you very much."
“Just a note to say how grateful I am to you and all your staff for your continued support through what has been a very difficult year. My mother has always filled me in on her visits and how loving and kind everyone is. I hope to get back over there soon. Your presence is continually felt with each delivery my mother is able to accept. Your amazing support of the community is to be cherished. You are an angel sent from heaven! Just know you are very much appreciated by so many!”
“Thank you so much for the food pantry and the rental assistance provided to me. If there is something I can do to help you serve God’s people, please contact me.”
“I just want to tell you all that the service you all provide has made a huge positive impact on my family’s lives as we are weathering this storm. Thank you! May God bless you for the good you do.”
"I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation for everyone's help last month with my tags and phone cards. I can't begin to describe how much it helped me out. It's truly heartwarming to know there's someplace to go when things are rough to get some aid. Fantastic work, EVERYONE. Warmest regards."
Without benefactors like you, our society can’t have a significant impact in our community. With your support, we are able to provide our neighbors with food, shelter, clothing, living expenses and comfort. Together, we are making a difference.
